Reference "Memoirs of a Geisha" by Arthur Golden , published by Alfred A. Knopf in 1997. I myself read this fictional novel in 2003.

In 2005, "Memoirs of a Geisha", directed by Rob Marshall, was released in the US by Columbia Pictures and Dreamworks. The Japanese release of this version was titled "Sayori".

I much preferred the book, although some sequences in the film were breathtaking.
