I met this lovely young woman with her glamorous mother Ellie Keener-Fisher from Chicago at the quirky and wondrous desert detox center WeCareSpa in Desert Hot Springs, CA. My Little Pony is a breakthrough painting: I entered my studio one day having decided to refuse to buy into the testosterone-driven modern art scene and unleash my inner little girl. I was so happy making this painting. i love pink. It's a transcendent, heavenly color. I had always waited for the beautiful white stallion with the pink & gold saddle on the outside edge of the magical classic carousel on the boardwalk at Santa Cruz, CA.
